Romans 1:10

Rom 1:10  always in my prayers making request, if perhaps now at last by the will of God I may succeed in coming to you.

Here we see that Paul was making constant requests to God to get and be face to face with the church at Rome.  We see though that this was not only a request, but he wanted it to be the will of God also.  Paul wanted this to be in the Lords timing and not just a selfish request.  we also need to wait on the Lords timing for EVERYTHING.  It is no wrong for us to make request to the father ourselves in fact He wants us to!  Php 4:6-7  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.   And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Even Christ made requests that He knew was near impossible but made the request while at the same time leaving it up to the will of the Father.  Mat 26:39  And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will."  So God wants us to make our request to him as long as they are within His plan for our lives and fit in His timing.  Although most of us make the mistake of not doing this we need not be condemned but ask for forgiveness and He gives us Grace.  Grace upon Grace.

  1. God is faithful to provide both through grace and wisdom by being in His Word, and discerning His direction for our lives.
